Workshop Description

This is a training program teaching emergency clinicians on case-based scenarios and the presentation of different toxidromes. The application of ABGA and ECG in managing difficult cases of poisoning will be discussed. Management issues of common poisoning will be discussed with special emphasis on antidotes, appropriate intravenous fluid, and the use of Renal Replacement therapy. Difficult cases of envenomation and their management will be discussed in the form of a case-based study.

Learning Objectives

  1. Gathering important information about the presentation of different poisoning cases.

  2. Use of ECG & ABGA in diagnosing and management of difficult cases.

  3. Knowing about conditions in which advanced measures like renal replacement therapy will be helpful.

  4. Application of different antidotes & and antivenom in managing poisoning cases will be studied
